On August 27, the smart energy project of Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Center was put into operation; and it is expected to save 6.66 million kWh of energy per year and reduce emission of carbon dioxide equivalents by nearly 4,710 tons.

Invested, constructed and operated by Guangzhou Intelligent Electricity and Urban Lighting Technology Co., Ltd., the Center has a distributed photovoltaic system built on the roofs of 22 buildings in Yuhu Cold Chain Guangzhou Park, consisting of more than 13,000 high-efficiency monocrystalline modules and 35 string inverters, with a total capacity of 7.46 MW. The project has the most optimized power station design, high-quality construction, and major equipment supplied by international or domestic first-class brands. Its capability to provide about 6.66 million kWh of green electricity to the park and reduce carbon emission by 4,710 tons every year makes it an important step of the park in implementing the national dual carbon policy and realizing the transition to green and low-carbon energy.

In addition, the project will be gradually supplemented by smart street lights, distributed energy storage, photovoltaic garbage stations, photovoltaic seats, and carports integrating optical storage and charging, to form a set of "photovoltaic + cold chain" comprehensive energy solution for smart park, which will realize diversified scenarios of photovoltaic application and complementarity of multiple energy forms in the park, promote full coverage of the park by energy-saving and environmental protection facilities and equipment, and create a new benchmark for low-carbon, intelligent and digital cold-chain logistics.

According to relevant responsible officials of Huadu, the District, fixated on the strategic positioning of building a growth pole in the north of Guangzhou, and focusing on the new industrial development layout of "one district, one city, one port and one bay", is seizing the industrial opportunities brought about by energy transformation, devoting itself to the three trillion-level new industrial tracks, namely, photovoltaic, new energy storage and hydrogen energy to accelerate the construction of the "Green Energy Valley" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, going full swing to build a "Green Valley and Energy Capital of the Greater Bay Area". The District has succeeded in securing a number of 10-billion level large-scale projects such as Gaojing and Seraphim, and is also going all out to promote the construction of District-wide distributed photovoltaic application power generation project.

Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Center is a provincial and municipal key project, a major livelihood project in Guangzhou, and the first full-temperature cold chain warehousing and trading park in the province, and many-time winner of the "first-class (three-star) green warehouse” certification, the highest level of nation, and of the sustainable development contribution gold medal of the Hong Kong Green and Sustainability Contribution Awards. The official operation of the smart energy project, which is the product of cooperation between Yuhu Cold Chain and Guangzhou Intelligent Electricity and Urban Lighting Technology Co., Ltd further consolidates the green energy utilization model of Yuhu Cold Chain, offers a successful model for green transformation of the cold chain industry and for cultivation of new quality productivity, and also plays a very important role in Huadu's construction of the "Green Energy Valley" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
