On May 25, a ceremony was held Dingsheng Valley for the launching of the 2024 Huadu District Science and Technology Week, officially announcing the beginning of the event that aims to bring out a wonderful scientific experience feast. Themed on "Promoting the Spirit of Scientists and Stimulating the Innovation Vitality of the Whole Society", this year's Science and Technology Week will last from May 25 to June 1, focusing on exposing citizens to cutting-edge emerging technologies, such as photovoltaic and new energy storage, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, new energy, virtual reality, and Internet-supported agricultural technology.

As part of the event, the leaders of the Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and Huadu District, and the heads of relevant departments of the District presented awards to 15 outstanding units of scientific and technological innovation in Huadu District in 2024; and at the same time, speeches on such hot science and technology topics as "Baidu AI artificial intelligence" and "commercialization of scientific and technological achievements", and popularization of scientific knowledge on "high-tech", "interesting culture" and "life medical care" attracted a large number of onlookers.

In recent years, Huadu District has made concerted efforts to promote self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology, seeing the increase of innovation entities in both quantity and quality, the constant improvement of high-level technological innovation platforms and scientific and technological innovation service systems, and the best ever result of Huadu in science popularization and interpretation competition.

In 2023, 1,320 companies in Huadu was included as technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, and the number of high-tech enterprises exceeded 1,000, both numbers hitting a record high. Guangzhou Lanhai Robot System Co., Ltd. was recognized as one of the 2023 Guangzhou future unicorns, a breakthrough of the District in this field for the past five years; 10 engineering research centers were recognized as provincial engineering research centers of Guangdong, setting a new high; the District High-tech Enterprise Association was established to build a new "bridge" for communication between government and enterprises; and contestant from Huadu District won the first place in the youth group of Guangzhou in the popular science explanation competition.

Giving a speech at the event, the relevant person in charge of the Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau said that as the centerpiece of the new growth pole in the north of Guangzhou, Huadu was an important link in Guangzhou's building a scientific and technological innovation hub city, and occupied an important position in the city's scientific and technological innovation picture. In recent years, scientific and technological innovation indicators of Huadu District have continuously achieved new results and breakthroughs; scientific and technological innovations will illuminate the way forward for Huadu and let Huadu win the future.
