Huadu News Today: A grand ceremony was held on September 12 at Sunac Mauve Hill hotel to celebrate the 70thanniversary of Huadu District People's Hospital and the cooperation agreement signing with and plaque awarding by the National Center for Respiratory Medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.

　　  The ceremony was honored by the presence of Hu Wenkui, Member of the Leading Party Members Group of Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, Huang Weilin, Secretary of Huadu District Party Committee, Xing Xiang, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and District Mayor, Guo Gongtian, Director of the Standing Committee of Huadu District People's Congress, Chen Jiafei, Chair of Huadu District Committee of CPPCC, Wu Shaolin, Standing Vice-chair of Guangdong Medical Doctor Association , Li Yimin, Party Committee Secretary of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Huang Jinkun, President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Chen Rufu and Huang Huigen, vice presidents of Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital, Huang Yihui, President of Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital, principal officials of District bureaus, relevant leaders of Xinhua Street, leaders and experts of universities, provincial and municipal hospitals, leaders of member units, sister hospitals, and associated enterprises and institutions of Huadu District People’s Hospital Medical Group, retired leaders, current party and administrative leaders, and staff representative of Huadu District People’s Hospital.

　　  Mr. Ye Jiajun, Deputy Party Committee Secretary and President of Huadu District People’s Hospital expressed high gratitude to retired leaders and comrades, and employees of the hospital who have worked hard and selflessly for the construction and development of the hospital over the past 70 years. He also remarked that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its foundation, the District People’s Hospital is fortunate to become a cooperative unit of the National Center for Respiratory Medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, which will improve the overall medical service capabilities of the hospital, will drive and facilitate the rapid development of members of the Medical Group, will mitigate the difficulty of grassroots people getting medical treatment, and will accelerate the hospital's pursuit of becoming a first-class medical service center in northern Guangzhou.

　　  Li Yimin said that in July 2020, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University has the honor to house the National Center for Respiratory Medicine, which, as one of the first national medical centers set up after the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, represents the top level in China, and will lead in the development of national medical technology, provide support to policy making of the state, and be a boosting force for improvement of country in terms of medical treatment, disease prevention, and health services. The partnering of Huadu District People’s Hospital with the National Center for Respiratory Medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University will help further improve allocation of high-quality medical resources in the region, accelerate the homogeneity of medical services, improve the capacity in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of common and frequent respiratory diseases, and promote the development of respiratory medicine.

　　  Speaking on behalf of the party committee and the government of Huadu District, Deputy District Mayor Mr. Jiang Fujin recognized the contribution made by Huadu District People’s Hospital to the District's medical and health services. He said that in the past 70 years, by upholding and carrying forward the service spirit of “care with love”, putting patients first, and focusing on quality, the District People’s Hospital has been a follower of the development path of harmonious doctor-patient relationship; that it has achieved a real leap-forward development through measures such as strengthening infrastructure and conceptual construction, searching for innovative working mechanisms, strengthening internal management, and improving professional skills. The District People’s Hospital should take the 70thanniversary of its establishment as a new starting point to quickly promote its high-quality development, push forward the health alliance building in a compliant way, and improve the capacity and quality of medical services, all for the purpose of providing the general public with safe, effective, convenient and affordable medical services.

　　  Mr. Hu Wenkui pointed out that as the only local Class A tertiary hospital in Huadu and the leading unit of Huadu District People's Hospital Medical Group, the Hospital has been committed to providing quality services to ordinary patients. Especially during the course of prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic this year, it has made its share of contribution, living up to the noble spirits of respecting lives, saving lives, helping the wounded, committed dedication, and boundless love. The Municipal Health Commission will continue to care, value, and support the construction and development of Huadu District People’s Hospital as always. It is hoped that the hospital will adhere to its people-oriented and patient-centered management philosophy, strengthen medical ethics, improve the level and quality of diagnosis and treatment, measure its performance against the satisfaction of the masses, and build a medical care system that has safer diagnosis and treatment, more convenient medical access, more effective communication, more comfortable experience, and more satisfaction by the people, thereby to bring the masses more sense of happiness and fulfillment.

The leaders presented also attended the plaque unveiling ceremony that marked Huadu District People's Hospital’s becoming cooperative unit of the National Center for Respiratory Medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, and the launch of the "District Digestive Disease Clinic Center" at the hospital.

　　  A bunch of seminars and forums were held subsequently, including the Seminar on the Development of Digestive Disease Discipline, Digestive Disease Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Forum cum. Huadu District General Surgery Annual Meeting, and Digestive Disease Nursing Forum, where well-known domestic experts and scholars on digestive diseases had in-depth brainstorm to promote exchange and convergence of advanced medical theories and technologies, to find a new starting point for the development of the discipline, and to shed new light on precise treatment for patients.
