　　 Today's Huadu News: The 2020 Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference cum. Ceremony for Collective Contract Signing and Project Commencement was grandly held on Aug. 28. Included in the batch are 30 projects in Huadu , in particular the Greater Bay Area Green Building Materials Industrial Park and the International Green Building Materials Center Project of Oriental Yuhong, the China Cold Chain Strategy Flagship Project and the Greater China Base Project of Yuhu Group, the Powecom Medical Device Industrial Park Project, the Guangzhou North Railway Station East Plaza Project, the Gearbox Parts and Car Body Parts thermoforming Project of Uniprecision, and the R&D and Sales Headquarters Project of Devy Technology; these projects cover 16 industries, such as new building materials, logistics, new energy vehicles, medicine, business culture, next generation information technology, new retail, cosmetics, intelligent networking, intelligent equipment, green building materials, film and television equipment manufacturing, electronic display, and advanced manufacturing, with a total investment of 50.819 billion yuan and a total output value of 116.8 billion yuan. 9 projects, with a combined investment of 44.627 billion yuan, were commenced on the same day.

　　 A hub city with air-rail combined transport

　　 With Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Guangzhou North Railway Station connected by subway, intercity rail, thruway, light rail, and other means to facilitate quick transit in as little as 10 minutes, Huadu District is the core link for air-rail combined transport, which make its an international transport hub and a foreign trade platform, and a cooperation portal through which Guangzhou can lead the Pearl River Delta, influence South China, and reach the rest of the world.

　　 A one-hour life circle including Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao is under construction, in which people can reach Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in 10 minutes; downtown Guangzhou, Qingyuan urban area and Foshan in 30 minutes; Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Macau, Dongguan, Zhaoqing, Huizhou, Zhongshan, and Jiangmen in 60 minutes, and other 27 large and medium-sized cities in South China in 120 minutes.

　　 As one of China's three major aviation hubs, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport leaped onto a new level of 73 million passengers in 2019; it operates more than 300 domestic and international routes and 1,000 daily flights, and connects to 210 countries and regions around the world. With its eyes fixed on becoming an "international hub airport", the airport is now planning its expansion to build runways 4 and 5 and a third terminal.

　　 Guangzhou North Railway Station is a large-scale comprehensive transportation connection point of general railway, high-speed rail, urban rail, and subway, where seamless connection among aircraft, high-speed rail, urban rail and public transportation is realized. Planned to connect Metro Lines 24 and 9, Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, Airport APM Line, Guangqing Intercity Rail, Guangzhou-Foshan Intercity Railway, and Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity, Guangzhou North will be expanded into one with 18 platforms and 36 rail tracks and serve as the starting station of Guangzhou-Heyuan High-speed Rail and Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Rail. In the future the airport APM line will make possible 8-minute air-rail transition.

　　 Based on the “air-rail intermodality” comprehensive transportation system centering on Baiyun International Airport and Guangzhou North Railway Station, an “air-rail integrated development core area “has been planned to cover the area south of Huadu Avenue, north of Yayao Middle Road, east of Hongmian Avenue, and west of the new G106 highway, in which the main urban CBD, Guangzhou North Railway Station, Huadu Lake and other key development areas are located. The core area plan aims to expand economic and urban functions, accelerate the creation of important urban functional areas that are international and high quality, enhance Huadu’s role in supporting the international aviation hub, and improve its function as comprehensive services provider in the northern part of the Pearl River Delta.

　　 A pool of advanced manufacturing clusters in the Greater Bay Area

　　 As part of its efforts to move to the high-end of the industry chain and to the core of the value chain in the Big Bay Area, Huadu District is now building three advanced manufacturing clusters , a "200-billion automotive industrial cluster", a "100-billion smart electronics industrial cluster", and an "airport-related high-tech industrial cluster" .

　　 The strategic layout of "one axis and four belts; one core and multiple clusters”

　　 According to the city development plan "one axis and four belts; one core and multiple clusters", Huadu will concentrate to build the main city axis and the air-rail integrated development core area. Along the city axis, the airport economic innovation industrial belt in the east, the Guangzhou North Railway Station business industrial belt in the middle, the advanced manufacturing industrial belt in the west, and the eco-tourism development belt in the north will be developed; and the air-rail integrated development core area will be home to automobile industry cluster, intelligent electronics industry cluster, airport high-tech industry cluster, modern service industry cluster, business and trade service cluster, and urban low-carbon leisure industry cluster.
